Compliance with law
KLG seeks consistency with our business partners on complying with Hong Kong and international laws and regulations which are governing and applicable to our business activities where-ever we do business.
Health & Hygiene
All our seafood products imported to Hong-Kong and Mainland China should fulfilled with either European Union or United State Food regulation standard or defined certification in regard to the assurance of lawful food safety rule and regulation.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE ON OUR FOOD QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT?
Local Law Compliance
In Respect to the Hong Kong law compliance, we are in follow with the lawful standard and requirement of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD). It is a lawful requirement which we are responsible in implementing the territory-wide policies of food safety control to all our sourcing and distribution activities and enforcing the food legislation to be complied. It includes :
Section 62(1) of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance
The Food Safety Ordinance (Chapter 612 Sections 4 and 5)
The Food Safety Ordinance Section 59 of the Ordinance .
The Food Safety Ordinance (Cap. 612)
Under the Public Health & Municipal Services Ordinance, food on sale for human consumption in Hong Kong must be wholesome, unadulterated, uncontaminated, properly labelled and fit for human consumption.
Global Sourcing and Quality Assurance Compliance
The basic requirement on sourcing and procurement on KLG Fine Food is expecting our supplier and it's management on processing facilities and production equipment should comply to the British Retail Consortium (BRC). which specifically concern with ” The BRC global standard of food safety “and” The BRC global standard of Retailer “.
Matters on BRC Global Standard of Food Safety
It is a scheme which guiding well management of our partners for product safety, integrity, legality and quality; and the operational controls for these factors in the food and food ingredient manufacturing, processing and packing industry.
Matters on BRC global standard on DISTRIBUTION
The BRC global standard of Retailers provides fundamental certification for organizations that retail food products, as well as hard lines. This standard covers the activity of retailing, commissary, sourcing and in-store production and is formulated to promote best practices on product safety, quality and the operational criteria required to fulfill obligations with regard to legal compliance and consumer protection.
Matters on processing of food additives application
The food products we sourced and distributed should comply with the European Union's General Principles of Food Law and/or US FDA regulations.
Our commitment to food safety means that our basic understanding of the rule is the foundation of our supplier food product and its feed material production and feed application, which sets out an overall and consistent approach and framework to the reliability of our procurement operations and the food service commitments to local clients.

The ASC standard provides strict limits on the level of seafood additive residues and the use of food additives.
Natural treatment and no added food additives are always the primary choice for our food supply
All products are supplied by BRC certified suppliers
Suppliers supply seafood products with lower sodium and less salt, especially for added value seafood products
MINIMAL GLAZING AND NET WEIGHT STANDARD
Minimal protective glazing on seafood products we sourced is to ensure the highest freshness of seafood quality as standard
IQF freezing process ensures customers do not have to pay extra quality costs
The product strictly adheres to the net weight of the product containing only the content of the ingredients.
** There is currently no common practice and law applicable to net weight regulations in Hong Kong **
We provide prepacked and certified sustainable seafood
Packaging design and material used is adopted with the purpose to keep longer shelf life and avoid over-packaging.
Standardized resealable zip lock to encourage reuse and reduce the amounts of plastic material use.
